Hello, my wonderful friends. Welcome to another day in the magic kindness garden, where we plant seeds of kindness and grow the love that heals the world. Why magic? Because kindness often bears the fruit of love almost immediately.

How many other seeds do you know that work that way?

How was kindness planted in your life today? What impact did it have on your heart and mind?

TODAY'S TIP (Teaching, Invitation, Promise)

Teaching: Gratitude is a gentle act of kindness to our minds and hearts, helping us notice the good and welcome peace within.

Invitation: Do yourself a kindness today—take a few quiet minutes to reflect on what you’re grateful for and write it down.

Promise: As you express gratitude for the blessings in your life, you’ll experience greater calm in both mind and heart.

Gratitude—a joyful companion for kindness that lifts our hearts as we take the time to contemplate what we have and appreciate it, whether big or small.

Kindness touched my heart that way today.

We’ve been blessed to have our oldest daughter, Emma, living with us for a few months. She’s a joy to be around—engaging, thoughtful, and incredibly talented. Each day I have the privilege of hearing her practice the violin as she prepares for upcoming concerts with the Des Moines Symphony.

I also love watching her detailed wildlife drawings come to life on her art pages. You can see some of her beautiful work at emmamcneelyart.com.

One sample of Emma's amazing art! She drew this and gave it to me for Christmas!

In addition to the violin and art, Emma is also an incredible writer, currently working on her first novel—and it’s really good.

I’m deeply grateful for her and try to show that gratitude through action as well as words. Today it showed up simply. As I scraped the ice off my car, Emma warmed hers up before heading out. After she left, I scraped her windows too. Later, I received a text with a smiley face and a simple “THANKS.”

Nothing big—just a few minutes less time in the cold.

Kindness planted. Love reaped almost immediately.

The rest of the day was filled with the kindness of connection, including an uplifting hour-long call with Michael Ray, the king of smiles. You can’t talk with Michael without feeling lighter.

I also had the privilege of talking with two more amazing ladies.

First the retired rockstar principal, Debra Klein. We had a great discussion and a lot of laughter.

Kindness to the soul planted.

Love grown in both our hearts.

Then it was a long discussion with the amazing brain scientist, Dr. Jen Fraser. Engaging, fun and nugget gleaning conversation. The work Jen is doing to combat bullying is truly inspiring. We both came away having enjoyed a long and productive discussion.

Kindness sown, love grown.

I'm grateful for the opportunity to spend time talking with good people. We rub off on each other in ways the uplift.

“I’m grateful for gratitude—a kindness to mind and heart that helps us see our blessings, especially when we can’t control our circumstances but can choose our response.”

My friends, our world desperately needs more love right now. Together you and I can step up and make a difference. Will you join me?

Remember, wherever we go we can help love grow by letting kindness flow!

Until tomorrow.
