Growing Love Through Kindness Day 1 (Jan. 1, 2026)

Hello my wonderful friends. Welcome to 2026! 

My friends do you know Francesca Donlan? ( If not, you should. Why? She is a love grower.

You may be asking what that means. Here's the simple answer. A love grower is someone who delivers love through kindness every day. For the past 365 days Francesca has been sharing daily experiences with kindness. She never talks about herself as a love grower, but she can't escape the fact that she is. 

How can I be so sure?

Kindness is love in action. It is love's delivery agent. Every act of kindness delivers love to some degree, no matter how small or large the act of kindness is.

With that in mind, I'm happy to announce that I've been so inspired by Francesca's actions that I'm starting a project of my own called the "Growing Love" project. My mantra for the year (and forever after) is "Wherever I Go, I Help Kindness Grow"

It will be similar to Francesca's but with some twists. I will be reporting here, and I will be recording my daily experiences on post-it notes and sticking them on the love tree that my sweet daughter Julia is currently painting in my office!

I've invited my family to join me and post their own kindness experiences each day. 

Today, I was kind to myself and my wife by walking for 2.5 miles with her. I showed that same kindness to myself later and to my older daughter as we walked for 1.5 miles together. I had the wonderful opportunity of making breakfast for Julia and doing laundry for my wife and I. My wife and kids all gave me hugs and have been cheerful all day, creating a kind atmosphere in our home. In all these activities, we've grown love for self and for each other. 

My friends, I invite you to join me on this journey. Our world needs love desperately and you and I working together can make a huge difference. I'm not asking you to paint a tree on your wall, though that would be cool. I'm inviting you to do the following each day.

- Wherever you go, help love grow by looking for and acting on opportunities to give kindness away. When kindness flows, love grows. 

- At the end of your day, record experiences in a journal or in another creative way to help you remember them. 

Francesca shared how her life has changed through her experiences this past year. I can promise that you and I will experience those same changes as we follow through on delivering love through kindness.
